At Denver Dream Dog, I specialize in Board and Train programs geared toward your puppy’s age and unique level of development. In this training experience, your puppy will live with me in my home. Together, we optimize for strong obedience, polite house habits, and joyful social experiences — so important to develop during the critical first year of life.

Program Highlights

Fun and Demanding Environment

The Board & Train program is demanding AND fun! There are never more than 2 pups at a time in the training program, but your pup will meet new carefully screened boarding buddies each day!

Individual and Group Training

Your dog will receive focused, private obedience training throughout the day, as well as obedience games with other pups in a group setting.

Free In-Person Transfer Session

When you pick up your pooch, we offer a complimentary in-person transfer session.  All three of us will work together so you and your pup will be able to work together as a team.

Personalized Training Video

You will receive progress reports and video throughout your pup’s stay. At completion, you will also receive a final video starring your pup, performing all the skills he’s learned. That way you have a refresher to refer back to anytime you need it!

LEVEL 1 PUPSTART – Puppy Training for
Ages 8-12 Weeks:

Our PupStart program focuses on developing good potty habits, comfort in the crate, appropriate chew habits, socialization, and fundamental obedience skills.

LEVEL 2 PUPTEEN – Puppy Training for Ages 12 weeks or older, including adults:

Now that your puppy is housetrained, they are ready for our PupTeen Program!  It focuses on more challenging obedience training, while still providing the social experiences teenage puppies crave. Our program covers a wide range of skills, setting us apart from other puppy programs!

LEVEL 1 & LEVEL 2 – THE WORKS:

This covers the material in BOTH levels and takes a puppy all the way from initial potty training and crate training, all the way to a full set of strong obedience skills, plus the doggy charm and social graces that will serve them well their entire life!

Our Unique Approach:

It’s a brain workout to cover so many concepts, but your dog will also have plenty of downtime to relax. Your little one can explore the oversized yard, roll in the shade with their new canine besties, and enjoy lots of cuddles and belly rubs from their trainer!

The PupStart and PupTeen programs are ideal for various scenarios:

  • Are you leaving town and would like to have your dog professionally trained and cared for while you are gone?
  • Does your puppy need to learn good house manners, but you just have too much on your plate right now?
  • Do you have a new pup or dog, but the work schedule keeps you from providing the training he needs?
  • Would you prefer your pup learn in a welcoming home-based environment, rather than an institutional facility?

Health and Safety Guidelines

Large Adult Dogs and Giant Breeds

Due to our focus on puppies, accommodating very large adult dogs or giant breeds can be challenging. However, we would love to meet your dog personally to determine if it’s a good fit.

Public Daycare/Kennel Break

If your dog attends public daycare, kennels, or dog parks, please allow a 2-week break before attending Denver Dream Dog. This helps prevent the spread of contagious health issues common at large facilities.

Aggression or Reactivity

To ensure the safety of all dogs in our care, the Board & Train program is not suitable for dogs with aggression or reactivity issues toward other dogs. But we offer private instruction to support any problem areas for your dog!

What Your Puppy Will Learn:

  • Housetraining: Establish good potty habits
  • Basic Obedience Skills: We teach the skills that make it easier to live with an active puppy — Sit, short Stays, Coming When Called, “Leave It” (invaluable with an inquisitive puppy!), and “Space” (to address jumping up on people with that normal puppy exuberance).
  • Behavioral Training: Curb puppy nipping (to save your hands) and practice appropriate chew habits (to save your furniture).
  • Socialization: Interact and play politely with other puppies. This is where puppies develop confidence in themselves, and joy in other dogs!
  • Note: While your puppy will receive an introduction to housetraining, their ability to “hold it” will increase as they mature. It’s crucial to maintain a regular schedule of frequent outings. In addition, some puppies have already had a negative experience in the crate before they come to me. That is not a problem! But sometimes the pup needs extra time to learn to relax and enjoy sleepytime. That progress may need to continue when you take the puppy back home. Dogs are individuals, and they learn (and re-learn) at different speeds.
